Goldfinch: A Finish in the Dog Days of Summer

Well, it is 90+ degrees in the suburbs of Washington, DC, and guess what, I just finished, my Goldfinch Shawl! What a fun project. I’ve never knit short rows, but after watching a couple of youtube tutorials, I was able to figure it out. This is a great first project for short rows (since it is a shawl you don’t have to worry about fit!).

I am really happy with the fabric. I used Dragonfly Fiber’s Selkie Sport Yarn (sadly discontinued). It is a blend of silk and wool and gives this shawl a wonderful drape and lightweight feel. You can easily throw this shawl in a bag if you are worried about a too cool restaurant or movie theater during the spring or summer. Wait a second, restaurants and movie theaters, I have magically transported back to 2019. Well, maybe I’ll get to use it for outdoor dining once it cools off this Fall!
